At the GSD Federation of SA,
the National Sport Committee is dedicated
to help all Clubs and Handlers attain their
GSD sport goals with their dogs
What we do:
The German Shepherd Dog (GSD) is specifically bred as a family protector dog. GSDs are highly trainable and intelligent dogs that, with the correct training, can enjoy competitions in tracking, obedience and protection work.
When participating in all these sporting disciplines, handlers are encouraged to participate in IGP, a GSD Sport that includes all three, to achieve the qualification of IGP at levels 1, 2, and 3.
The GSD Federation of SA, along with its National Sport Committee, is here to help promote the joy of GSD Sport training in each club in South Africa.
We liaise, through the GSD Federation of South Africa, directly with the WUSV in Germany on your behalf, ensuring entry and participation within the SV and WUSV World Championships exclusively held for German Shepherd Dogs through:
